Lee Johnson Solo Acoustic Live Performances
Lee Johnson has many influences from years of playing that when combined help create his unique sound. To sum it up you will hear Country Rock influenced by rock, blues, country, Fingerstyle, bluegrass, Americana, folk, and swing. It is an irresistible recipe seasoned with an energetic, soulful Colorado sound. This music is all about good times and festivities. Lee’s previous band was written up in Rolling Stone Magazine as “one of 150 top performances across the country that make up the soul of Saturday night”.
Lee's years of playing Colorado’s Front Range scene with various line-ups began in 1989 and eventually led to touring nationally as a singer/songwriter and lead guitar/lap steel player for “Runaway Truck Ramp”. Good fortune lead to sharing stages with some of the nation’s top artists, including members from “Hot Rize”, “New Grass Revival”, “Leftover Salmon”, “The String Cheese Incident”, "Tony Furtado", “Yonder Mountain String Band”, “Acoustic Syndicate”, “Derek Trucks Band” and many more…
Currently playing solo acoustic, this modern day storyteller delivers a power packed show to audiences young and old. His focus is on songwriting and entertaining. Highlights are his strong vocals, innovative guitar work, and confident delivery. Lee plays with passion, soul, humor, creativity, and above all likes to have a good time. Studio Performances / Session Work Lee Johnson is a well rounded musician and is available to play on your next CD project. He has logged many hours of studio time on his instruments and will help make your next CD project sound great! Lee will record and or produce your project for you at his protools based home studio.
Lee plays acoustic and electric guitar, bass guitar, dobro, lap steel guitar, double neck straight steel guitar, and harmonica. Styles include Rock, Blues, Zydeco, Folk, Bluegrass, Western Swing, Alt. Country, Classic Country, Americana, Big Band Swing, Jazz, Brazilian, Reggae, Caribbean, etc…Lee studied Music and Music Technology during his time at UCD Denver from 1993-1995. His knowledge of studio techniques helps him achieve a high level of musicianship.
Lee has recorded several CDs of his own projects including 2 full length Runaway Truck Ramp CDs, produced by James Tuttle, and a 4 song demo CD for Rubber Spark. Lee is currently working on his debut solo CD in his protools based home recording studio.
Lee has been a musician for hire on several CD projects including 3 tracks on a CD by Benny Galloway, produced by Greg Schochet, 2 tracks on a CD by John McKay, and 3 tracks on a new release by Buckskin Stallion, also produced by Greg Schochet and mixed by James Tuttle.
