Guitar and Bass Guitar Lessons in Boulder, Colorado
Lee has taught Guitar and Bass Guitar lessons in Boulder, Colorado and surrounding areas for over 12 years. His experience teaching combined with playing professionally for almost 20 years allow him to teach a wide variety of styles. Lee started playing in bands around Boulder in 1987 and studied music at CU Boulder as a non-music major while pursuing a B.A. in Environmental Conservation recieved in 1991. Lee went on to study music formally at UCD Denver for a second B.A. degree in Guitar Performance and Sound Technology 1995. Virtually all styles are included, from rock guitar, alternative guitar, classical guitar, bluegrass guitar, country guitar, heavy metal guitar, to jazz guitar, and many more styles. He teaches a variety of instruments as well including: Acoustic and Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Dobro, Lap Steel and Straight Steel. see Boulder Guitar Studio

Lee Johnson performs locally and regionally as a solo acoustic guitarist/singer/songwriter, and with his band "The Rhythm Method". Lee's solo shows feature his original songs in the Southern Rock/Blues/Country styles as well as covers in a variety of styles. Lee's songs are universally appealing as they draw the listener in, convey emotion and command attention. Lee's previous band "Runaway Truck Ramp" toured nationally and cut 2 full length CD's. Rolling Stone Magazine dubbed this band "one of 150 performances that make up the soul of Saturday Night" on September 2nd, 1999. Lee played a prominant role in Runaway Truck Ramp as a singer, songwriter, lead guitar and steel guitar player. Lee has shared stages and opened for a variety of national acts including John Cowan of New Grass Revival, Peter Rowan, Tony Rice, Leftover Salmon, String Cheese Incident, Moe, Yonder Mountain String Band, members of Hot Rize, Roy Carrier and the Night Rockers, Derek Trucks Band, and many others...
THE RHYTHM METHOD
Lee Johnson and The Rhythm Method specialize in playing private parties, corporate functions, wedding receptions and ceremonies as well as playing local and regional bars and night clubs. This music is also well suited for Mardi Gras celebrations, backyard barbeque's, benefits and just about any other occasion you may plan.
The Rhythm Method plays a variety of styles including Rock, Blues, R+B, Motown, Funk, Zydeco, Cajun, Bluegrass, Reggae and Carribean. "The Rhythm Method" is designed to keep the dance floor moving, and plays music that pleases all generations. Also available are performances with a duo, trio, and/or a jazz quartet for jazz/cocktail type situations.
